Velumtec GmbH warrants this product to be free of major defects in material or workmanship to the original purchaser for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. This warranty is subject to the following limitations:

The warranty is valid only when the product is used for kiteboarding on water and does not cover products used in rental or teaching operations

Velumtec GmbH will make the final warranty determination, which may require inspection and/or photos of the equipment, which clearly show the defect(s). If a product is deemed to be defective by Velumtec, the warranty covers the replacement of the defective product only.

Velumtec GmbH will not be responsible for any costs, losses or damages incurred as a result of misuse or abuse of this product. The warranty does not cover any damage caused by anything else than bad workmanship of defective materials like for example but not exclusively:

  • Standard usage wear and tear
  • Damage caused by heat, sun, sand, wind and (salt)water exposure
  • Damage caused by foreign objects
  • Damage caused by improper assembly, set up, packing, storage and/or handling
  • Damage caused by misuse and/or abuse
  • Damage caused by hard crashes/ impacts
  • Damage caused by using solvents or harsh detergents

The original purchase receipt must accompany all warranty claims. The date of purchase must be clear and legible

  • Don't bring the kite in contact with sharp-edged rocks, wood, shells or other objects that may damage or puncture the material.
  • Frequently inspect the kite for wear.
  • Inspect lines for knots and untie. Knots will reduce the flying lines breaking strength.
  • Do not expose the kite to excessive sun as it ages the material unnecessarily.
  • Never leave the kite unattended for a long period of time. Leaving a kite for extended lengths of time in the wind may cause wear of the trailing edge and material.
  • Be sure not to drag the tips of the kite across the ground when carrying the kite.
  • Wash the bar and safely system in fresh water after every use by placing the entire system (with lines wound onto the bar) into a bucket of fresh water and letting it sit for 5 minutes. Allow to dry properly before storing in a dry location.
  • Do not dry the kite in direct sun. Otherwise changes of colour or mildew could occur.
  • Deflate bladders for longer storage. Never store an inflated kite after it has been exposed to high temperatures; this may damage the internal bladders
  • Always dry kite and remove excess sand before rolling and packing away.
  • Storing a wet kite may cause discolouring and mould.
  • Pack the kite with as few wrinkles as possible.
  • This will prolong the life of your kite.
  • Always store the equipment in a clean, dry, cool place in the supplied bag
  • We recommend washing your kite with fresh water and drying it before rolling it up for storage.
  • When cleaning the kite be sure that no water, dirt, or sand gets inside the bladders.

Failure to follow the Kite and Bar Care instructions will be considered misuse and/or abuse under the Manufactures Warranty and will void the Warranty.

Zian uses SBS101 Double Ripstop canopy from Sakai Techfibre (Japan).

Sakai Techfibre (Japan) is home in the top end acrobatic paraglider and spinnaker fabrics which are manufactured exclusively by Sakai Ovex in Japan. For their SBS101 double ripstop kite canopy they use high tenacity polyester yarn manufactured by Toray Japan exclusively for Techfibre. Toray Japan is a multinational corporation specialized in polymer chemistry. This makes SBS101 the ONLY full Japanese canopy on the market.
The canopy production is based on a new process that gives multiple benefits over conventional canopy.
The quality consistency from batch to batch is of a level we have not seen before. Special attention is taken to avoid “chalking” of the canopy after some use, a visual problem seen on many kites on the market. Rather than one sided coating, SBS101 has adopted a double sided multilayer coating technology for longer airproof canopy
